Sharing Saturday: Vitality Oils Save the Day!

I was really in a bind on Thursday morning when I discovered that I had no cinnamon!  Oops!  How do I make pumpkin pie of any sort without cinnamon?  Well… Thieves Vitality essential oil, of course!  Here is my new favorite pumpkin pie:

Pumpkin Cheesecake Eggnog Pie

2, 9″ uncooked gf pie shells, pierced on bottom and sides with a toothpick

1, 15 oz. can pumpkin

2, 8 oz. packages cream cheese, room temperature

2 large eggs

3/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup eggnog

3 Tbsp. cornstarch

1 Tbsp. nutmeg

3 drops Thieves Vitality essential oil

Put the pumpkin, cream cheese, and eggs in the mixer and beat with the whisk attachment until everything is incorporated and fluffy.  Add the sugar and beat well.  To the eggnog add the cornstarch and stir until dissolved. Add to pumpkin mixture and stir in well. While beating add nutmeg and thieves oil. Make sure to scrape down the sides of your mixing bowl from time to time so that to make sure everything gets incorporated.

Mmm… Thieves Vitality saves the day!

Pour pie filling into prepared pie crusts and bake at 375°F for 40 or so minutes or until the filling doesn’t jiggle. Let cool and serve with whipped cream or ice cream (eggnog ice cream if you can get it!)

It cut so perfectly!

What was the other vitality essential oil saved the day? My citrus fresh vitality saved the cranberry sauce! I didn’t have any orange zest this Thanksgiving, so I looked to my oil shelves. There I found my citrus fresh vitality essential oil and quickly added 7 drops in lieu of the orange zest. It was delicious!

  1. Yummy! Love pumpkin pie too! Never thought of using essential oils in place of spices! Good call!
