Something I think I’ve always kind of taken for granted was knowing the words to our national anthem. It was brought to my attention of late, that not everyone does. That’s such a shame!
Fear not! I have your back, fellow bloggers and friends! I humbly give you Francis Scott Keys beautiful words:
“O say, can you see,
By the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed
At the twilight’s last gleaming.
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming.
And the rocket’s red glare
The bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still there!
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free
And the home of that brave!”
Play ball. No, that last phrase was from my childhood of listening to Cub’s games with my dad. Love you, Dad!

Actually, there are many more words. I had no idea, but when I looked it up, sure enough! Maybe I’ll learn those too some day.
Have a beautiful, blessed Fourth of July, my fellow Americans!

God bless you,
Rita
