Mental Health

A new schoolyear brings many challenges. Child #3 is entering their second year of high school and there are new things happening. So, I wanted to offer a bit of advice.

Be there for your children. Listen and watch for signs that something isn’t right. Talk to them and let them know that you are always there to listen. You never know how important this is. You may be the reason that your child thrives in this chapter of their life.

There are many pressures coming at kids these days. Bullying, peer pressure, pressure to perform well, etc. These can weigh on their young minds and make options that they would never consider, seem appealing.

As a mother of children who have attempted suicide, you do not want to be in this position. Talk to your kiddos, call someone if you need to for help, and above all be alert. Love them. Pray for them. Listen to them. God bless!

  1. Excellent advice! This is definitely a time in their lives that they need all adults in their lives to be emotionally and mentally present!

      1. Right? The pandemic has affected everyone! The kids have suffered from not seeing and playing with friends like they would normally have!
